Deadly flooding extends from Uttarakhand into Himachal Pradesh in India (update)

Heavier than usual monsoon rains have caused severe flooding that has extended in northern India from Uttarakhand into Himachal Pradesh where thousands of homes have been destroyed. At least 130 people have died and 70,000 are stranded. Travellers should avoid travel in the affected areas since essential services, including transportation, may be severely disrupted.
