Deadly landslide after heavy rains in Panama

Heavy rains inundated parts of Panama. Villages were flooded and landslides caused 2 deaths and destroyed hundreds of homes. The hardest hit areas included the province of Colon, on the Caribbean coast, and Capira and Chorrera, just outside of Panama City. Travellers should exercise caution and avoid travel in the affected areas since essential services, including transportation, may be severely disrupted.
