Deadly measles outbreak sweeps Kenya

A measles outbreak that began in a refugee camp has spread to over 45 counties nationwide. A total of 32 children have died from the disease while 767 cases have been confirmed by laboratory testing. Travellers are reminded that outbreaks of the highly contagious measles virus can occur anywhere in the world at any time. Travellers can reduce their risk of exposure to the highly contagious measles virus by ensuring that their childhood vaccinations, including measles, are up-to-date prior to travelling.
