Deaths due to floods in southern Thailand

Heavy rains during the past week have created flash floods that have killed at least 18 people while affecting over 700,000 people in the country's south (provinces of Nakhon Si Thammarat, Trang, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat and Surat Thani). Roads have become rivers while farmland is flooded. More heavy rain is forecast for the next 2 days.

Advice For Travellers

Travellers to the affected areas should exercise caution since essential services, including transportation, may be severely disrupted.
