Decline in malaria cases in Limpopo, South Africa

Although there has been a progressive decline in reported malaria cases during the past 3 year, since the beginning of October this year, there have been 253 reported cases. In spite of improvements in control of this disease, there is still a risk of malaria in the area. Travellers to this region can reduce their risk of exposure to malaria by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
