Demonstration in Hong Kong today draws 6,000 people

About 6,000 demonstrators in Hong Kong are marching from the Hong Kong government headquarters in Tamar to the central government’s liaison office. They are protesting the disappearance of five booksellers in Hong Kong.

Advice

Travellers should be aware of the tensions around the missing booksellers. This is the second protest this week. To minimize safety risk, always avoid areas or protests or large public gatherings. Although no violence has been reported, even peaceful protests can escalate quickly and unexpectedly.
