Dengue Fever cases, deaths and outbreaks have been reported from the following places:

Philippines (Central and Western Visayas; Santiago City, Isabela Province; Zamboanga City, Mindanao)
Viet Nam (Ho Chi Minh City)
Malaysia (Lawas, Sarawak State)
Singapore (North east region)
India (Maharashtra State)
Australia (Townsville, Queensland State)
Mexico (Tamazunchale, San Luis Potosi State; Mazatlan, Sinaloa State)
Brazil (Cuiaba, Mato Grosso State)

Travellers to these areas can reduce their risk of exposure to dengue fever virus by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Many persons with dengue fever may not seek medical care and may not be reported to health authorities. There may be many more cases in the community that are not reported.
