Dengue fever cases are increasing in various provinces in Argentina

Reports of dengue fever in Argentina have increased by 24% in the past week. The total for this year has reached 2,870 suspected cases. The most affected provinces include Santa Fe, Salta, Córdoba, and greater Buenos Aires. There may be many more unreported cases since counting andreporting may be hampered by lack of local access to health care, and manypersons with mild illness may not seek health care. Travellers to areas wherethe dengue fever virus is active can reduce their risk of exposure to denguefever virus by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
