Dengue Fever cases continue in Paraná, Brazil

With the addition of 1,950 new cases of dengue fever, the total since last August has reached more than 7,000 reported cases. Of these, 33 have had the more severe dengue haemorrhagic form of the disease and 6 have died. There may be many more unreported cases since counting and reporting may be hampered by lack of local access to health care, and many persons with mild illness may not seek health care.
