Dengue fever cases, deaths and outbreaks reported by various countries in Asia

Malaysia - there have been at least 25,000 cases of dengue fever reported in Malaysia along with 62 deaths. Selangor and Perak continue to report the most cases.

Vietnam - more than 5,200 infections with 3 deaths in Dong Nai and Long An provinces and Ho Chi Minh City.

Singapore - 1,465 cases; 1 deaths

Travellers to areas where the dengue fever virus is active can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Many persons with dengue fever do not seek medical care and are not reported to health authorities. There may be many more cases in the community than the reports indicate.
