Dengue fever cases increase in New Delhi, India

So far this year, there have been 120 dengue fever cases reported in Delhi, an increase over the 98 cases reported through September 27. There has been 1 death. Travellers to areas where the dengue fever virus is active can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Many persons with dengue fever do not seek medical care and are not reported to health authorities. It is highly likely that there may be many more cases in the community than the reports indicate.
