Dengue fever cases still being reported in São Paulo, Brazil

So far this year, the city of São Paulo has recorded 13,700 cases of dengue fever. Although most of the cases occurred between March and May, there was an increase in reported cases this week compared to last week. Travellers to areas where the dengue fever virus is active can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Many persons with dengue fever do not seek medical care and are not reported to health authorities. There may be many more cases in the community than the reports indicate.
