Dengue fever continues to increase in Thailand

Through the end of November, a total of 111,826 people have been infected with dengue. There have been 108 deaths. In Bangkok, more than 16,600 cases have been registered.

Advice For Travellers

The risk of exposure to dengue fever virus will vary from place to place. However, all travellers to areas where the dengue fever virus is active can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Many persons with dengue fever do not seek medical care and are not reported to health authorities. There may be many more cases in the community than the reports indicate.
