Dengue fever control measures initiated in El Salvador

The most affected municipalities include San Salvador, San Jacinto, Soyapango, Panchimalco, San Marcos, Ilopango, Cuscatancingo. There may be many more unreported cases since counting andreporting may be hampered by lack of local access to health care, and manypersons with mild illness may not seek health care. Travellers to areas wherethe dengue fever virus is active can reduce their risk of exposure to denguefever virus by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
