Dengue fever in Cambodia is double compared to last year

There have been 2,688 reported dengue fever cases in the 1st 6 months of 2015, more than double the number for the same time period last year. There have been 10 deaths. Approximately three-fourths of the infected people have been children 5 to 14 years of age.

Advice For Travellers

All travellers to areas where the dengue fever virus is active can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Many persons with dengue fever do not seek medical care and are not reported to health authorities. There may be many more cases in the community than the reports indicate.
