Dengue fever in southeast Asia (Cambodia, Singapore and Thailand update)

Cambodia - in general, there have been fewer reported cases and deaths this year compared to last year. So far, there have been 15,193 reported cases along with 45 deaths in children.
Singapore - Nearly 17,400 cases have been reported so far with 850 cases occurring in the last 2 weeks. There have been 6 deaths.
Thailand - Nationwide, there have been 133,377 reported cases along with 126 deaths. The trend appears to be decreasing.

There may be many more unreported cases of dengue since counting and reporting cases may be hampered by lack of local access to health care, and many persons with mild illness may not seek health care. Travellers to areas where the dengue fever virus is active can reduce their risk of exposure to dengue fever virus by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
