Dengue fever increases in Queensland, Australia

The number of reported cases of dengue fever continues to increase in Cairns (57 cases) and Port Douglas (17 cases). The virus is thought to have been imported from Thailand. Travellers to areas where the dengue fever virus is active can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
