Dengue fever is double last year's number in Minas Gerais, Brazil

In spite of drier weather that should inhibit the number of mosquitoes, the number of dengue fever cases in the state has reached 121,747 confirmed cases, double the number recorded last year. Due to dry conditions, citizens are saving water in containers that still permit the breeding of mosquitoes that spread dengue fever.
