Dengue, malaria and chikungunya fever in Ahmedabad, Gujurat State, India

Mosquito borne infections are causing concern in Ahmedabad. In the last two weeks, there have been 235 reported cases of dengue fever, 51 cases of chikungunya and 494 malaria cases (122 of whom have the most serious falciparum strain). Since these three infections are all transmitted by mosquitoes, travellers should follow all the necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
