Devastating floods in Texas and Oklahoma, USA

Heavy rains in Texas and Oklahoma have caused flooding that has swept away at least 350 homes and washed out two bridges. Other roads and bridges are damaged, and there are power outages. The entire county of Hays has extensive damage to infrastructure.

Advice For Travellers

New thunderstorms and heavy rains are in the forecast for Monday that could lead to more devastation. A curfew was declared 9:00 p.m. Sunday until 7:00 a.m. Monday for the cities of San Marcos and Wimberley, Texas, as well as unincorporated areas of Hays County.

Avoid the affected areas which include: San Marcos River from San Marcos to Luling, Texas, including parts of southeastern Hays, western Caldwell and northern Guadalupe counties; city of San Marcos.
