Advice For Travellers

Sporadic cases of diphtheria occur every year in Myanmar, mostly in children of ethnic minorities where vaccination against this infection is not available. Although the risk for the general traveler is low, all travellers can reduce their risk of exposure to the highly contagious diphtheria by ensuring that their childhood vaccinations, including diphtheria (DPT), are up-to-date prior to travelling.
