Earthquake Occurs in Tongo 2 April 2018

An earthquake of 6.3 magnitude occurred about 171 kilometers east of Nuku’alofa, Tonga in the Pacific Ocean today (2 April 2018). A smaller 4.5 earthquake was reported earlier near Neiafu, Vava‘u, Tonga.

Advice

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center did not issue a tsunami warning. There are no early reports of injuries or damage.
