Egypt enduring a deadly heat wave

Temperatures reached 42 degrees Celsius (107.6 F) in areas across Egypt. In Cairo alone, 21 people have died and more than 69 have been hospitalised with heat-related medical problems.

Advice For Travellers

Egypt’s Ministry of Health has alerted the public to take greater precautions to cool body temperature, including drinking more water, staying in the shade or indoors in air conditioning.

The heat wave is predicted to continue for at least another week.
