Emergency alert for waters off coast of Puntarenas, Costa Rica

A ship went down off the coast of the tourist town of Puntarenas, Costa Rica, carrying almost 200 tonnes of ammonium nitrate. Today, the National Emergency Commission (CNE) of Costa Rica issued an emergency alert to warn tourists and residents in the canton of Puntarenas to avoid all swimming or fishing in this area until further notice. This alert includes the area from Paquera to Tambor and at Puntarenas and Caldera beaches. The main port of Puerto Caldera has also been affected.
