Ethnic conflict in Kokrajhar, Assam, India, decreasing as army takes control (update)

Although some gun battles between government army troops and rioters continued in the night, some of the violence appears to be decreasing as the army takes control of the streets. Indian security forces are enforcing a “shoot on sight” curfew after at least 36 people were killed. The ethnic violence shut down road and rail transport.
