Explosive cholera outbreak in Gunea-Bissau

A dramatic outbreak of cholera has affected 6 of the 7 administrative regions in Guinea-Bissau and resulted in 9 deaths and over 1,500 reported cases since November 11th. Travellers to this area can reduce the risk of exposure to cholera by strictly observing all food and water precautions. If visiting this area and if gastrointestinal symptoms develop, e.g., vomiting and watery diarrhoea, seek medical care at once.
