Extensive measles outbreaks in South Sudan

Eleven counties have confirmed outbreaks of measles since the beginning of 2016. Nationwide, at least 832 suspected measles cases have been reported. Affected areas include Juba, Aweil West, Mayendit, Mayom, Leer, Rubkona, Twic and Abyei. Vaccination campaigns are underway to contain further spread.
