Extreme cold front claims lives of homeless in eastern Europe

A severe cold front with temperatures dropping to -33C, along with forecasts of heavy snow has resulted in multiple deaths across several coutnries. Most of the deaths have occurred in homeless people, but the cold coupled with food and heat scarcity has caused chaos across large areas of southern and eastern Europe.

Travellers to these countries should be aware that essential services, including transportation, may be disrupted. Temperatures are expected to warm by the end of this week.
