Falling temperatures in Punjab contribute to decline in malaria cases in Ludhiana, India

In Ludhiana, it is common to diagnose 2-3 cases of Malaria in a single day. However, with falling temperatures, city hospitals claim they have not received a single case in the last few days. So far this year the city of Ludhiana has reported 187 cases of malaria. Although the season for malaria transmission may have peaked, travellers may still wish to reduce their risk of exposure to malaria by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication should be considered.
