Fatal attacks in Kokrajhar district, Assam, India

About 20 heavily armed militants who are suspected to be members of the outlawed National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) opened fire with automatic weapons in 2 incidents in Kokrajhar district killing at least 11 people, including women and children, and wounding 4 others. The victims in both incidents were from the migrant Muslim community. Several countries advise their citizens to reconsider travelling in this area of India.
