First case of MERS virus reported in Thailand

A business man returning to Thailand from travels in Oman has been confirmed as the first case of the respiratory MERS virus in Thailand. There is no relationship with the current outbreak in South Korea. Control measures are being implemented.

There is essentially no risk for travellers to Thailand. However, worldwide media attention is may create some unwarranted concern.
