First measles case in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, since 2008

Health authorities have confirmed the first case of measles in the city since 2008. The infected child is hospitalized while authorities trace the contacts.

While this single case does not pose a significant threat of exposure to most travellers, GHNN has reported this incident to remind all travellers that measles outbreaks can occur almost anytime anywhere in the world. Travellers should ensure that their childhood vaccinations, including measles, are up-to-date prior to travelling.
