Flooding and landslides in central and northern Chile and have left three dead and 19 people missing

Torrential rains have caused flooding and landslides in central and northern Chile and have left three dead and 19 people missing. Chile's Ministry of Interior and Public Safety on Monday said the Antofagasta, Atacama, Coquimbo, Valparaíso, Metropolitana de Santiago and the O'Higgins administrative divisions are under a red alert. The Maipo River is contaminated, and the water supply to Santiago will be cut until the water flows clear.
