Flooding in Douala, Cameroon

In the Douala V district area of Cameroon’s economic capital, heavy rains that began on Monday triggered major flooding, submerging over 150,000 acres. About 80,000 people have been forced out of the area.

This area of Douala is prone to flooding. The rains are continuing and authorities have advised people who live in the area to evacuate and avoid the area. Last week’s floods cut off most companies bordering the Wouri River.
