Flooding in Kashmir

Water levels in Kashmir have been above the danger mark. Although, the Jhelum River water level has dipped, it continues to flow above the danger mark in the south and central areas.

Advice For Travellers

Expect damage to infrastructure. Several bridges and roads were washed away in south Kashmir, with the main impact on the Tral area in Pulwama district. The Srinagar-Jammu National Highway has been closed to traffic due to landslides in two places at Gamro and Magarkote in Ramban district. Train operations between Banihal and Baramulla have been suspended since the tracks are submerged in several places in Pulwama, Anantnag and Kulgam districts.
