Flooding in northeastern France

Heavy rain in northeastern France has caused several rivers to reach very high levels, flooding some areas. About one month's normal rainfall fell in only 24 hours. An orange alert has been declared for the departments of Yonne, Marne and Haute-Marne. Dijon, Burgundy has been badly affected. In the southwest, water levels in the Soane River were very high, and ferry services are suspended in Lyon.

Travellers should avoid these areas until waters subside and monitor the local reports for disruption of services.
