Food Borne Intoxication - consumption of bushmeat in Cameroon (correction)

In an alert published on May 31, 2012, Sitata reported that 80% of the meat consumed in Cameroon was “bushmeat”, that is, from wild animals such as gorillas, monkeys, etc. In fact, this may be true in some remote villages, but not for the country as a whole. Nevertheless, travellers should avoid consuming any bushmeat since it may be the source of serious and life-threatening infectious agents.
