Forced evacuation of muslims from Central African Republic

African peacekeepers escorted more than 1,000 minority Muslims from Bossangoa to neighbouring Chad. The evacuated persons feared attacks by roving Christian militias. Large-scale violence between Christians and Muslims has been continuing in Bossangoa and nearby Bouca since last September. Thousands have been killed and around a quarter of the country's 4.6 million people displaced. Several countries advise their citizens to avoid all travel to this country at this time.
