French farmers protest by blocking roadways and tourist sites

French farmers faced with financial crises due to low prices are protesting by blocking north-south roadways, tourist sites and key bridges. About 50 blockades are reported around France, including Caen, near Chambord castle, Lille (on the A1 highway), Poitiers, St. Malo Dordogne, Pont de la Seine viaduct at Le Havre, Pont de Normandie, Sables-d’Olonne, Sommes, Calvados and Lyons. Access to Mont St. Michel has been reported. More blockades are expected around Lyon and around Clermont-Ferrance.
