Gang rape in India village in West Bengal

A 20-year-old woman in India accused a group of men of gang rape after the head of a village in West Bengal told them to do so. Attitudes toward women and violence toward women, including foreign tourists, have been highlighted in India recently. Women travellers can face sexual harassment in this country, such as groping, men following women, lewd comments, etc. Travellers should be cautious in India, particularly women, and avoid walking alone, avoid isolated areas, etc. Sexual harassment is not a problem in the Buddhist areas, such as Ladakh and Sikkim.
