Garment worker protests in Cambodia turn violent leaving four dead

On Friday at least four garment worker protesters were killed when the government cracked down on the demonstration in Freedom Park, Phnom Penh. Travellers should be aware that this violence marks an end to the peaceful protests by garment workers who have been camped in this park area since mid-December. The government will no longer allow people to protest, rally, or hold political activities in Freedom Park
