Grenade Attack in Rwanda Near DRC

On 19 October, four people were injured in a grenade attack in Kamembe town, Rwanda, close to the border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Advice

Many countries advise citizens to avoid travel to areas that border the DRC due to armed groups operating in these areas. There is a risk of cross-border attacks and security incidents. Deadly grenade attacks have been reported from Kigali, Musanze and Southern Provinces.
