Gunman who killed 39 people at an Istanbul nightclub still at large

On January 1, 2017, a gunman entered the Reina nightclub in Ortaköy, Istanbul and opened fire killing 39 people and wounding 69 others.

According to reports, there are ongoing police operations, and the attacker is still at large. Avoid the area around Ortaköy. With respect to personal safety, be cautious and vigilant in your surroundings. Some countries are advising travellers to avoid unnecessary travel to Ankara and Istanbul.
