Gunshots fired in Washington, DC, Capital Visitor Center

At about 15:00 (3:00 pm), gunshots were fired in the Washington, DC, Capitol Visitor Center, and one officer was wounded. The gunman has been caught.

This is reported to be an isolated incident. However, the complex and the White House are on lockdown at this time. Capitol staffers and visitors have been told to “shelter in place.”
