An outbreak of hand, foot and mouth disease is affecting 3 schools in the Natomas Unified School District. The outbreak began around December 2nd and has affected between 10 and 15 children so far. Small children are most susceptible to infection with this virus. Travellers who are travelling with small children can decrease the risk of exposure to hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) virus by frequent hand washing and maintaining careful personal hygiene.
