Hand, foot and mouth disease in Singapore hits a new high

Weekly cases of hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) are at their highest this year. There were 1,109 cases of the viral infection in the last week of September. So far this year, there have been approximately 21,000 reported cases. Small children are most susceptible to infection with this virus. Travellers who are travelling with small children can decrease the risk of exposure to hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) virus by frequent hand washing and maintaining careful personal hygiene.
