Hand, foot and mouth disease increasing in Philippines

The number of suspected cases of hand, foot and mouth disease has almost tripled this year to 612 suspected cases. The most affected areas were the Cagayan Valley, Calabarzon, northern Mindanao, Metro Manila, and Mimaropa.

Advice For Travellers

Small children less than ten years old are most susceptible to infection with this virus. Travellers who are travelling with small children can decrease the risk of exposure to hand, foot and mouth disease virus by washing their hands frequently and by maintaining careful personal hygiene.
