Hand, foot and mouth disease increasing in Singapore

Reported cases of hand, foot and mouth disease began increasing in April. In the last week of May, there were 793 cases which is a record high this year. Most of the cases have been in school or day care children. Small children are most susceptible to infection with this virus. Travellers who are travelling with small children can decrease the risk of exposure to hand, foot and mouth disease virus by washing their hands frequently and by maintaining careful personal hygiene.
