Hand, foot and mouth disease widespread in Mekong Provinces, Vietnam

Many cases of hand, foot and mouth disease are occurring in the provinces of Vinh Long, Hau Giang, Bac Lieu and An Giang. There has been 1 death in an infant reported so far. Small children are most susceptible to infection with this virus. Travellers who are travelling with small children can decrease the risk of exposure to hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) virus by frequent hand washing and maintaining careful personal hygiene.
