Health authorities declare typhoid under control in Nyanga, Zimbabwe

After at least 150 cases, health authorities have declared that the outbreak of typhoid fever that began last November in Nyanga is under control. No deaths were reported. Travellers to this area can reduce their risk of exposure to typhoid fever by being cautious and avoiding consuming contaminated food or water. Vaccination against typhoid fever should be†considered, especially if unsafe food cannot be avoided.
